Overview: There continues to be a strong shift from traditional travel agent bookings to on-line bookings. Although travel agent numbers continue to fall, Thrifty is outperforming the industry. ARC reported a first quarter drop in agency sales of 20%. Thrifty’s loss in that arena was less than 13%. Although the numbers are still down, agencies are seeing positive trends. In the first quarter, agency sales went from -23% in January to -18% in March. |
