Carlson Wagonlit

Thrifty Car Rental established a preferred relationship with Carlson Wagonlit Government Department July of 2001. This relationship has proven to be extremely beneficial. Thrifty market share with Carlson was 7% before the new preferred relationship. As can seen by the market share report, Thrifty is now at 12% for the quarter, and was actually at 13% in March (almost double). Carlson also generated a 44% increase in revenue for 1st quarter 2002 vs. 2001 from $927,426 to $1,339,375. Two factors combined for these large increases: A promotional offer by Thrifty called the Thrifty Stimulus Package which provided incentives for booking agents January through April; as well as the cut in commissions by the competition. (February was a down month for the entire U.S. Government travel market for unknown reasons.)
