Monthly Report
Covering the period Tuesday, August 21, 2001 to Thursday, January 31, 2002 (inclusive)
Shows the time and date that the first and last requests were made. This may be different than the Report Range because this is based on actual dates and times seen in the logs where the Report Range simply shows the first and last dates that could have been analyzed based on the Time Period selected.
General Statistics
Total Number of HTML Page Requests (Page Views)
Shows the total number of HTML pages accessed during the period in question. This number is probably less than the Total Number of Requests, which normally includes requests for graphics, audio files, video clips, etc. Important: This element overrides the usual report-level filtering and uses element-level filtering. Therefore, if you change the report-level filter, you must make a complimentary change in the Filter tab of this element or you will not get the expected results.

Total Number of Visits
Shows an estimated number of distinct visits to the site during the specified time period. A visit may include any number of requests. Visit-based calculations are generally more useful than request-based calculations because they filter-out the effects of individual graphics and circumvent the problem with dynamic IP assignment. A visit is defined as a particular IP address visiting the site where no gap between requests was longer than 60 minutes (this time can be changed with the Updates tab of the Options dialog box).

Total Number of Visitors
Shows the total number of visitors that came to the site during the specified time period by looking at a combination of unique IP addresses and unique cookies. This element is only applicable to sites that use persistent cookies.
